Organic Producers in Maremma: A Food Chain That Tells the Story of the Land

Updated: Feb 10

Spighe di grano in Maremma

Staying in Maremma also means learning to recognise the value of simple things. Here, food is not an accessory to the experience, but one of its deepest expressions: it reflects the landscape, the rhythm of the seasons, and the patient work of those who cultivate and transform the land without forcing it.

Around Maremma Design, in southern Maremma between Manciano, Scansano, Sorano and the Argentario coast, there is a network of organic and artisanal producers well worth discovering.

Not big brands, but small farms working in balance with the environment, turning every meal into a conscious act.

🥬 Organic vegetables and fruit

Seasonality as a choice

Vegetables and fruit in Maremma are not about uniformity, but about quality.

Here, seasonality is not a trend word, but a daily practice: shopping means adapting, choosing, cooking simply. And this is exactly what makes the experience more authentic.

You enter the shop, choose what you would like to taste — spreads for crostini, bread and flatbreads made from ancient grains, cheeses, cinta senese salami, cow’s milk mozzarella, artichokes in oil, farm-brewed beer and local wines. Glasses and cutlery are provided so you can enjoy your aperitivo at the outdoor tables. You shop local, and whatever you don’t finish, you take home with you.
